Today marks the first day of Door Knocking to get me elected to the City Council.

We have our pencils, we have our brochures and we have our walking lists. We hope to knock on 5,000 doors.

I have faith in Christ. Christ taught us to love our neighbors, turn the other cheek and forgive those who cause us pain. He taught us to take care of the least among us. Christ taught us that if we do these things we will have a chance of living with heaven on earth. Some followers of Christ don’t teach these things. Those followers hate, encourage killing and they honor greed. Christ told us we would know our prophets by their deeds, not their words.

I have faith that great rewards come from feeding the homeless, sheltering the lost and forgiving those who cause suffering. The Lord’s prayer teaches me that I will find great joy and happiness right here, now, before I pass on to the next experience.

My faith has been rewarded time and time again. I have wonderful, trustworthy friends. I have a home filled with love. I have a place of grace inside my self where I can find peace at any time. His kingdom has indeed come to me, on earth as I suppose it is in heaven.

Yes, I have moments of doubt. There are times when my faith falters. But they are rare today and I refuse to let war mongers and fear peddlers use those doubts against me. I am taking back my Christianity and the love that was promised to me by Christ–the love that was taken away by the mongers and peddlers.

I ask you to vote in a Christ loving way. Vote for those who are not peddling fear or war. If, in your opinion, they are all peddling fear then vote for the those who peddle the least.
