Win 10 networking solutions wired and wireless

Just a bunch of notes, not very well organized but top ones probably most useful

wireless problems

Click the small up arrow icon on the taskbar to view hidden icons.
If the network or wireless icon is appearing there, simply drag and drop it to the taskbar area.

Click System icon. Click Notifications & actions.
Click Turn system icons on or off.
Check the status of the Network icon, and turn it on.
Click the Back arrow to go back to Notifications & actions. Click Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
Check if the Network is turned off, and turn on the same if it’s off.

Under the Processes tab, right-click on Windows Explorer entry, and then click Restart button.

choose “maximum performance” under wireless adapter settings

Uncheck the option “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

If the above 2 solutions don’t work for you, try to turn on the Wi-Fi again in Settings (Windows 10 update may change the settings during the installation); or try to de-select the option “allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” on Device Manager >> Network Adapters >> Properties >> Power Management tab.

search for network troubleshooter, run it

Step 1. Click Start and then click Settings
Step 2. Select Network and Internet
Step 3. Click WiFi in the left panel
Step 4. In the right pane, locate Manage Wifi Settings and click on it
Step 5. Disable these two settings: “Connect to suggested open hotspots” and “Connect to networks shared by my friends”

Uninstalled the wifi driver and restart

extreme
1. Right Click Start Button
2. Select ‘Device Manager’
3. Click ‘Network Adapter’
4. Right Click the ‘RealTek RTL8188EE ..Wi-Fi Adapter’
5. Select ‘Unistall’
6. Click ‘Yes’ or ‘OK’ to the prompt to delete the wifi driver.
7. Restart computer
8. The WIFI started working after the reboot.
9. You will need to select the WIFI and provide the password to connect to your WIFI network.
